Must Haves For Daily Life

Did you recently adopt? Are you going through a checklist for a new furry addition, but are not sure where to start? Check out this post on Prepping For A New Addition. Congratulations!

The post also contains other recommended items that may be helpful that are not listed here. While there are other options in the post, below are the items we use daily!

I make sure this list stays relevant. Do check back frequently to stay in the loop!

This list is also great for those who have seasoned relationships with their furry buddies and are looking for quality items to make life smoother.

The products I recommend were not placed in my lap for me to review. These are my own unsolicited opinions. Trust me these things will make life easier.

I do receive a small commission if you purchase from one of my affiliate links [and then I use those dolla dolla bills to advocate for rescues and keep WigglyButts.me going strong!]

For what it is worth, you can count on me for honesty [no one has time for fake]. Whether you click on a link, or not, is between you and your furry buddy 😉

Dinner Bowl

Slow down that fast gulping machine! eating too fast can cause tummy upset, and then you will b cleaning up some puke!

Mini Haus

This is your pupper’s safe place where they can get away from the crowd, sleep, and have time to themselves. The crate should not be used as a place of punishment.

ID Tag

This name tag can be fully personalized. It is sleek, easy to read, and simple to move between collars and even leashes.

I love this thing!

Tag Holder

Every dog needs a collar. Collars should not be used to attach a leash because when Baxter pulls, the pressure can damage their windpipe.  These collar come in many colors and have reflective material woven into the design.

Leash

Being in public often requires having Fido on leash. Non retractable leashes offer more control over situations. This one offers two spots to hold on the the leash.

Harness

Want you dog to learn to walk nicer while on a leash… this harness is a great training tool and can also work as an every day harness. This harness promotes good walking habits for your buddy.

Poopie Bags

Poop bags! Picking up poop is the responsible thing to do. It is bad enough that it smells like… well… poop, but you do not want the bag to break either. These bags are strong and they’re scented too.

Wipes

Corn chip paws. Does your dog live indoors? Does your dog go outside? How about… lick their paws?  That corn chip smell is due to bacteria that lives on their paws. Too much bacteria is a bad thing. Wipe those paws!

Tinkle Pads

Puppies are sweet, but they can be messy. Puppy pads are great for that transition period while they are being house broken.

Snuggle Spot

Soft and fluffy! this dog bed can fit in the crate or can be used solo. If Baxter has an accident on this bed it can be cleaned up pretty easily.

Pest Be Gone

Flea and tick shampoo. Adventurous dogs tend to bring new friends home on their backs. This flea and tick shampoo is pretty effective, doesn’t dry out their skin, and smells pretty good too. For what it is worth, diluted Dawn dish soap work well for fleas and ticks too. Just note that it can irritate  skin and cause dryness.

So Fresh So Clean

I love the way this shampoo and conditioner smells on Pi! It leaves her fur soft, fluffy, and silky. Her skin likes it too. It is a little pricey for shampoo, but it is worth every penny!

Seat Protector

We travel plenty with Pi. Since our SUV has a mini third row, we put this hammock back there and she has her own space for long road trips. She is comfy in it, keeps the seats free of fur, and leather safe from nails!

Dog Protector

Regardless if it is a short or long road trip, always travel safely. Pi finds this harness to be comfy and the seat belt easily latches like a normal vehicle buckle.

Outside?!

You’ve graduated from pee pads… now what? Help your dog help alert you when it is time to go potty!! No more guessing, Train Rufus to ring the bell when they need to go outside.

Clickety click

You might need this contraption to assist in training. THis is a clicker and it is used in… clicker training. Clicker training is a way to train dogs using positive reinforcement. it is pretty effective.

Treats Please

Clicker training and positive reinforcement means you will need some treats! These are USA made, convenient and your dog will gobble them up!

Treat Holder

Training doesn’t start and stop with potty training. This pouch makes life easier by leaving your hands free to control the situation and focus on learning with your dog.

Hydrate

Every training session, hike, or dog park excursion calls for WATER!!!  This water bottle is super handy on the go.

BALLS!!

I thought these were a gimmick and a way to up charge balls for a dog. Nope. Cheap balls are cheap. They do not last. Cliche…but these balls are tuff. Haven’t met anyone that doesn’t like tuff balls yet.

Puzzle Treat Ball

You do your best to wear out your dog. After an hour of tugg and endless sprinting, that fluffy WigglyButt is still wiggling at a million miles an hour. Time to make them use their noggin and have some along play time while you recover. This puzzle ball will keep their mind occupied for a while. Just make sure your close it up well.

Antlers

I am not a fan of raw hide or other teeth cleaning  things with tons of preservatives. These antlers are long lasting and effective for cleaning teeth. Furthermore it will definitely satisfy your dog’s need to gnaw.

Let me know if you want me to look into anything for you! I’d be happy to let you know what I use for various situations. Email me here if you have any questions or suggestions.
